The ferry from Vis to smaller islands seemed informal, with the captain accepting beer from passengers.

Nearly every day we lunched, snacked, or relaxed at a beautiful rocky beach.

One of the beaches where we lounged and ate lunch.

Inside the Green Cave. More difficult to capture, some of the water was lit by light from a small opening above the cave.

Cindy and Domagoj (our guide).

Sarah kayaking (or at least posing in a kayak).

Back in Vis for an evening.

Cindy and our guide kayaking.

Sea gulls.

We kayaked into a bunker that housed war ships.

Another lunch spot.

I enjoyed wandering around and finding starfish in the rocks there.

The other side of the beach.

The monastry above Komiza.

Cindy and Sarah standing near the temple to Sv. Duh (the holy ghost) with Komiza behind us.

The temple of Saint Duh.

Tito's cave. He hid here while planning Yugoslavia.

The cave where Tito stayed. It was really quite shallow. The inscription is about how glorious Tito was.

The quality of food acquired on our own improved greatly when we discovered Konzum and figured out how to order bread and cheese for sandwiches.

Our initial descent into Dubrovnik. Our guide carried my bag down these steps; I didn't realize that I'd have to carry my bag back up 136 steps to our room.

The view of Dubrovnik out of our window.

Dubrovnik from above. It is a beautiful tourist town. It shows few scars from the 4 month attack in 1991 and 1992 that destroyed most of the buildings.

The roofs of rebuilt homes are orange whereas the older tile is much lighter and more weathered. Some older tile was used over newer tile on a few buildings to make it look as if the buildings hadn't been bombed.
